Going to the well once again...
As we work on preparing a few new interviews for you word came down from on high that Colin has just been cast in... drumroll please.... "Oliver!". Yup... the stage musical.
And before you ask... YES, he DID already win an award for working on that. But this is with a different group. What's awesome here is that he does not know ANYBODY connected with this group, he has never met them, and they are not familiar with him. And this time he scored the part he'd wanted the first go-round, The Artful Dodger.
As I said, we are preparing a few new interviews in the near future. Not quite as prolific as the beginning of summer, but they will be notable additions. Keep checking back to find out what the deal is....

Just a little update... We added a bonus "easter egg" to the Star Wars page.. hope you enjoy...

Continuing our strange habit of driving over half the country Studio Kaiju took a long and arduous journey out to the warm environs of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in what was officially our longest car journey to date. What got us to haul our cookies all the way out there? None other than site favorites Stockwood, performing at a scenic and, quite frankly gorgeous resort lake. Not an interview, this was an opportunity for us to experience first-hand a true Stockwood show (their private gig for us in their basement studio was frankly enjoyable, but the audio swamped our camera equipment... a lost oportunity...).
On our Music page they demonstrate what it is that makes them so awesome. The music and performance are uploaded with express permission of Stockwood.

This past weekend, we attended Monster Bash in Butler, PA so that Colin could interview some guests on our longtime wish list, New England Horror Hostess Penny Dreadful and her husband Garou the Werewolf. They were accompanied by their neighbor and sometimes co-star, Retired Monster Slayer Manfred Von Bulow, who added to the madness by appearing in a summery vacation outfit accessorized with a tennis racket adorned with a cross! Now there's a man who's ready for anything!
While we were there, we also took the opportunity to talk to actresses Ann Robinson and Julie Adams and director Bert I. Gordon. To see them, check out our updated Actors 2 Page.

First - Welcome to summer. We missed it, and we do like our summer up here in frosty ol' Tonawanda, NY.
Second - Looks like the band Colin joined, "When Athens Fell" emerged the de facto winner in the battle of the bands... another band, Theica, put up some stiff resistence, but in the end Athens has more votes, and from more sources. So a big congrats to the guys!
Third - Stay tuned in the not too distant future for a few new interviews... plans are being laid, research is being conducted, palms are being greased... and restraining orders are being eased for some fun new people for you to meet. Can't say much except they fall from a subset of entertainment we're very fond of...
Fourth - We are anticipating a few technical hiccups in the next week or two, and we ask your indulgence whilst we make some transitions in the back-end servers to keep all these great interviews at your fingertips. If you DO discover something amiss do not worry, we're hot on the heels of repairing it... so keep on wandering through our pages and hey... thanks for watching.

Colin had a very successful first gig with "When Athens Fell", the band he just joined. They played toe-to-toe with four or five other bands from Western New York in a "Battle of the Bands" format at the legendary Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo (where not long before Colin interviewed Blues Guitarist Nick Moss...). Belting out the bass and even top-lining vocals with band leader Chris Kisiel on one song, the entire group seemed to have a particularly good time, despite having the band directly before them weasel some of their allotted stage time away by refusing to yield the stage even though the event coordinator was yelling at them.
Incidentally, Colin did NOT "Guest" as was previously believed. He was officially offered the spot in the band regularly since our last post.
Here are a couple of pics for you to peruse. We'd post a clip of Colin's lead song, but frankly it's "NSFW" and the site needs to stay kid-friendly.

We have just finished captioning all of the new video we have put up, and added a few entries onto our Lynx page that we thought you might find of interest. So, for the time being, our site updates are complete.
Meanwhile, our charming host, Colin, will be appearing as guest bass player with When Athens Fell at the Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, NY on Friday, June 11th at 6:00 PM. Be sure and check it out if you can!

We've been holding back on this one for a little bit largely because we had so much material to absorb from the Motor City Comic Con we needed a little rest before we could finish editing it down.
Multi-talented actor/comedian/singer/writer Peter Elbling, AKA "Harold Oblong", graciously agreed to a Kaiju-Cam interview with us that spans a good portion of his career. Peter's that rare actor whom everyone has seen yet no one knows they've seen, but if you ask, they'll remember what he's done. To find out more check out our three-part interview under "Actors 2".
This adds 21 minutes and 14 seconds of new material to the site, meaning we've just brought you 112 minutes and 54 seconds of footage in just under a month... pretty sweet, huh? And we're already looking ahead to the future, and what avenues we have yet to tap.
Additionally, please link up with us on Facebook. We're trying something new and out there... classic and new "teasers"... short roughly 30 second clips from our interviews... sometimes the right 30 seconds can do so much more than a ten minute clip.
May 30, 2010
We are still in the process of a major site update. Thus far, we've added descriptions for all the new clips we've added, which was a major endeavor. And there's more to come. The night before our trip to the Motor City Comic Con, Colin had an in-depth interview with a best selling author, an independent filmmaker, a musician, and one of the stars of our favorite movie...And it's all one person!!
We apologize for the delay, but because of the length, this particular interview is taking a little longer than normal to post. Who is it? Well, we'll give you a hint...Think back to the 70's, and see if the phrase "We're the Scum of the Earth" brings back any TV flashbacks.
Trust us, it will be worth the wait.
Stay tuned....

Now that we've gone a full decade into the 21st century we felt it was time we broadened our horizons... Studio Kaiju can now be found on the popular social networking site "Facebook". Don't look for us on Twitter... we're not going there... just look for us right..... about.... HERE!
May 25, 2010
Added a level of cool with the addition of the two-part interview with Jim "Enter The Dragon" Kelly! Look for it under Actors 2.
Curious how much video we uploaded over the last week? It clocks in at a mere 92 minutes and 40 seconds! But guess what, we've got more to come!
MAY 24, 2010
Added Johnny Green's interview with Dukes of Hazzard star Byron Cherry on the Actors 2 page.
MAY 23, 2010
Added interviews with Daniel Logan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the lovely and talented Tia Carrere to our "Actors 2" page. That means officially we're serving 150 video clips at Studio Kaiju!
Added Green-haired singer Johnny Green of "Johnny Green and the Greenmen" to Music. It was a toss-up between that and Actors, but we think of him as a musician first. Find out why...
Johnny also allowed Colin to get some much-needed rest by stepping in as guest interviewer on a couple of spots. First up, he talks with his friend Don Pedro Colley on the Actors 2 page...
MAY 20, 2010
Added Mark "Lost In Space" Goddard to the Actors 2 Page.
MAY 19, 2010
Iconic film and stage dancer Sandahl Bergman makes a rare public appearance at the Novi, Michigan Motor City Comic Con and Colin was there to speak with her. Check her interview out over at the Actors 2 page!
Also from the same convention, unannounced guest Paris Themin, who played "Mike Teevee" 40 years ago in the good Willy Wonka film, talks about his life, his favorite role to date, and boxes and what he did for them at EuroDisney. Check it out also at Actors 2.
MAY 18, 2010
The past week has seen Studio Kaiju's most prolific period of interviewing since... well... since forever!. There's almost two hours of interviews to be posted in the coming days with a host of brand new friends and a surprise or two along the way. We just spent the weekend at Novi, Michigan's Motor City Comic Con and had possibly the best working vacation of our lives in what can really be described as an adventure with spills, thrills and even some chills!
Kicking off the list is a lady who has devoted her not inconsiderable talents toward Animal Welfare, the amazing Ms. Linda Blair, who ranks her own page for reasons you'll soon find out.
Next up is the actor/voice artist/comedian Mr. Charlie Fleischer, who puts Colin through his paces in a wigged-out interview experience that left our text-overlay dept. unsure just what to write down... enjoy.
Much much more to come, so stay tuned...

Colin had the distinction of performing on the same stage as Nick Moss just 24 hours after the interview when he played Bass for his High School Jazz Ensemble at a regional Jazz Fest at the Tralf Music Hall.
The Nick Moss interview is now online on the Music page.
APRIL 10, 2010
Last night Colin conducted a lengthy interview with award-wiinning Blues Guitarist Nick Moss at Buffalo's Tralf Music Hall. The interview is in the editing stage and should be online very shortly.
However we awoke to some sad news this morning... one of our most honored guests, Munchkin Coroner Meinhardt Raabe, whom Colin was priviledged to interview in 2007 for this site, has passed away. Mr. Raabe was probably one of the most recognizable of the Wizard of Oz little people and had a long and busy career appearing as Little Oscar, the world's smallest Chef for Oscar Mayer Weiners. He learned to use his diminutive stature to his advantage, becoming an advocate for the rights of "Little People" and was a respected teacher. He also helped return the remaining Munchkin actors to the public eye when he contacted the organizers of the Chittenango "Wizard of Oz" festival and offered his assistence in the late 1980s. Those we met who knew of him only had good words to say, and he was a gentleman and a professional when we worked with him. He will be missed deeply.
Harry Knowles of Aintitcoolnews writes briefly but eloquently of the joy one feels when they had a chance to meet this man. That piece can be found HERE.

Uploaded Colin on stage singing "A Little Of Your Heart" which he wrote for two very special young ladies. You'll find that under "Anything Else".
March 25, 2010
Colin's back on the stage with a performance at Tonawanda High School as Benjamin "Benny South Street" Streeter in Guys and Dolls. He probably could have grown the moustache that was drawn on him, but there's just something about the greasepaint... Once Again, Colin knocked it out of the park. He's pictured here with co-stars Caitlin Devlin-Brooks and Sean Felix backstage.

Beloved Hope Fuller has finished her struggle with Cancer and left this realm for parts undiscovered. She will always be remember for the following qualities:
1) Her infectious smile
2) Her sheer joy of life
3) Her unwavering support for her brother J.D. and his bands.
4) The reach of her soul, which has touched so many people in the world and continues to do so even now
5) Her brilliant tactical plan to stave off Death by always having something better to do that she couldn't afford to miss.
6) Her unbelievable and fathomless bravery in the face of the ultimate lost cause.
7) Her impact in this world
8) Her impact in the next world.
9) Her faith.
10) Her love.
Her page has been updated with a final word on the subject from Colin.

Believe it or not, TV's Colin is finally off the crutches, although he's still draining mom and dad's wallets via the Physical Therapy thing. And when he wasn't busy doing that he took the time out of his hectic schedule to write and perform an original song for his school's talent show. Check it out on the "Anything Else" page.

Our host and co-founder, Colin, has been temporarily sidelined with a damaged leg. Having to navigate an unusually complicated path on the risers in his concert corral class, part of Colin's leg turned one way and the kneecap apparently didn't agree with that choice, and refused to turn. Currently he's recovering and learning the fine art of using crutches.
So far, one week into his sophomore year of high school and the kid has missed several classes already owing to being issued a defective locker, which was a few days later replaced with a defective locker, and then he has to miss even more time now due to a treacherous music class.
We're really curious to see how the next 39 weeks go.

Last Thanksgiving weekend, we had a wonderful time in Woodstock, IL at the home of J.D. Fuller, who plays Paul McCartney in the teenaged Beatles tribute band Stockwood. The Fullers were tremendously gracious as we interrupted their holiday, camera in tow, so that Colin could conduct not one, but two separate interviews with the band, one for The Buffalo News and the one featured on our Music Page.
Today, we received an e-mail from our friend Barb Ladner, Stockwood's Publicist, that the Fuller Family is now going through an unimaginable crisis. J.D.'s lovely, sweet sister Hope has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a rare, inoperable and extremely aggressive form of pediatric cancer.
As you can see, we've added a page, "A Wish For Hope", in support of Hope and her extended family. We also urge you to go to www.AlwaysHaveHope.org to learn more about this extraordinary young lady and the challenges she is facing.

As mentioned last week, during his break from interviewing, Colin and his friend Jeff Noworyta took advantage of existing costumes and sets and made a short parody sequel to Willy Wonka -- Head over to the "Everything Else" Page for Willy Wonka 2: Charlie's First Day.
June 14, 2009
Added an MP3 of TV's Colin singing "All Along The Watchtower", recorded December 2008 and his own take on Elvis Costello's "Every Day I Write The Book".

TONAWANDA'S GOT TALENT!
Not that you had to tell TV's Colin that... he was already aware. Having spent the past few years building up his stage credentials, Colin has worked with many talented people, some of whom appeared in a school Talent Show this past week. A few of those clips will be linked to the site, starting with the first one from Caitlin Devlin-Brooks and Ben Streeter.
It was not expected that there would be judges and even though Colin's performance featured an unanticipated microphone failure (the scourge of Studio Kaiju!!!!) the judges were so impressed that he took top honors. But if you were to ask him, Caitlin and Ben really deserve that honor, as you can see for yourselves over at the "Anything Else" page.

So...Where In The World Is Colin Reboy...
The reason for the lack of new material on the website lately is simple. Colin has been off persuing acting roles, which has limited his availability of late.
In the past year, he played a singing waiter in Hello, Dolly! at the Ghostlight Theater, made a guest appearance in the title role in Willy Wonka Jr. at his alma mater, Tonawanda Middle School, reprised the role in a short film which we may add as an extra to the site at some point, and, most recently, played Fagin in Oliver! at Tonawanda High School.

Here he is in costume before the final night's dress rehearsal. He describes this photo as "scary as hell".
He reprised the role in a concert version of the show at the 16th Annual Kenny Awards ceremony at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo on May 16. He brought home the gold that night as recipient of the Blossom Cohen Award. Below is a photo of Colin with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Cohen, Blossom's son and daughter-in-law.
He will be recognized by the Tonawanda School Board for this achievement at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 PM.
In other news, Colin will be performing "Everyday I Write The Book" at the annual Talent Show at the Tonawanda High School Distinguished Alumni Auditorium on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 6 PM.
MAY 28, 2009
After a great deal of work and exhaustive research, including a few re-uploads of videos that had gone AWOL, all previous videos have been re-linked in their new homes here. Of course with the advent of a new website there will be dust in the corner for a little while to come, and the updating in small doses will continue, but the main body of the site is finally in place and as the days go by you will find new descriptions for clips added, subtle changes here and there, and upgrades and maybe even a few new treats that we were technically unable to do for you under the previous domain hoster.
So as a treat for you, our loyal fans, we have dug out of our archives an interview we had initially considered A) not very technically proficient and B) a bit dated, but it's a bit too much fun to pass up, and so with the introduction of the Jackson Publick interview over in "Animation" we officially inaugurate Studio Kaiju 2.0.
Also, to help you figure out if we actually got around to interviewing someone you wanted us to interview, we've added an index page.
Thanks for your patience, kick back and enjoy the beauty of embedded video, and welcome home, dear friends... we've missed you.

Whoo boy, I can't believe it, but it looks like we may be on the brink of coming back....
So where did we go? Fair enough... As you may recall, we were enjoying being hosted by Fortune City Hosting, who for a good three and a half years were doing their job reasonably well, until one day they got bought out by another company...
But this is just business, so we didn't care. Until of course they wanted us to update our payment info. And they refused to acknowledge it. And they refused to let me communicate with them over it.
So now we are with JustHost.com, and so far they seem like decent folk. The place is gonna look a little different, but maybe that'll be a good thing. Let us know.
Glad to be back.
Anyhow, excuse the dust, our carpenters are hard at work making new sets, painting new backdrops, and the electricians are wiring in some cool new things for you to see and hear... and with a bit of elbow grease and a lot of luck we will be back up and running fully in no time.
